METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING OPTICAL FIBER PREFORM BY MCVD

PURPOSE: A process for preparing an optical fiber preform by soaking precipitate prepared by pouring dehydrated solvent in a solution in a porous layer is provided which produces high concentration optical fiber and reduces drying time. CONSTITUTION: A process comprises the steps of forming (100) a fine particle layer and a porous layer on the inside of a vapor deposition tube in order by pouring reactive gas and heating the vapor deposition tube; precipitating (102) by removing moisture from an element dissolving solution; soaking (104) the precipitate in a porous layer; and drying (106) a porous layer doped with the element and condensing. The process reduces drying time by removing moisture contained in a solution in advance and prevents the collapse of a porous layer.
