PURPOSE: A back light unit for a liquid crystal display device is provided to increase luminance of light guide plates. CONSTITUTION: A back light unit for a liquid crystal display device includes a lamp(51), a first and second light guide plates(20,21,22), and a plurality of sheets(30). The lamp(51) is covered by a lamp reflector. The first and second light guide plates(20,21,22) are inserted in an accumulated structure into the lamp reflector. The first and second light guide plates(20,21,22) transfers the light from the lamp to a front surface. The sheets(30) are implemented on the front surface of the first and second light guide plates. The sheets transfers the light penetrates the first and second light guide plates to the liquid crystal display panel.
