PURPOSE: A sticky trap of a liquid type for attracting and killing insect pests spreadable at room temperature and a method for the preparation thereof are provided for having no odor and poison, being harmless to men and beasts by containing an attractant which strongly attracts insect pests such as flies and mosquitos, being simple to use and being able to keep for a long time. CONSTITUTION: A sticky trap of a liquid type comprises 57-78 % of polybutene, 8.8-5.2 % of styrene-ethylene butadiene-styrene, 4-2 % of plasticizer, 10-4 % of aliphatic petroleum resin, 16-8 % of acetic polypropylene, 4-2 % of polyisobutylene and 0.2-0.8 % of attractant. Also, the method for the preparation comprises steps of: mixing and diluting 30-36 % of styrene-ethylene butadiene-styrene, 19-15 % of polyisobutylene and 51-49 % of toluene followed by allowing at room temperature for 5-15 days; melting by heating 12-24 % of the mixture, 70-50 % of the polybutene and 8-18 % of the acetic polypropylene at 140-160°C for 2 hours and then recovering and deodorizing the toluene at 160-220°C under vacuum; dissolving 1.8-3.2 % of the plasticizer in the mixture at 180-220°C; and after cooling to 150-170°C dissolving 8-4 % of the aliphatic petroleum resin and 0.2-0.8 % of the attractant in the mixture.
