PURPOSE: An apparatus for teaching piano using computer and method therefor are provided to increase learning efficiency upon learning by oneself by using a computer which is familiar to the general public and to solve any weariness factors to children. Also, the apparatus and the method are provided to make a teaching in an institute efficiently by allowing the teaching by a professional teacher to be supported in a time and an efficiency aspects, so that the number of the professional teachers may be reduced and, thus, economic load on payroll costs may be considerably reduced. CONSTITUTION: In an apparatus for teaching piano using computer and method therefor, the apparatus comprises a piano(1); detecting units(10) for detecting a musical scale, a sound intensity, and a sound pitch in a keyboard of the piano(1), pedal, and resonance portion, respectively; a central process unit(CPU)(20) which receives digital pulse signals from the detecting units(10), compares the signals with the sampling data stored in a memory(30), and displays the result of the comparison on a display member(40). The detecting units(10) for detecting a musical scale, a sound intensity, and a sound pitch in a keyboard of the piano(1), pedal, and resonance portion is connected to a central process unit(CPU)(30) in which basic teaching contents are programmed. According to the apparatus, a method for learning by oneself is provided.
