PURPOSE: An automatic target setting apparatus for use of shooting train is provided to achieve an improved training feature while arranging the target to operate as if in an actual condition. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus comprises a base(10) shaped as a hollow square and has at a top surface thereof a guide slot; a horizontal movement device(20) having rails(21, 21'), screw shaft, an induction motor(23) for rotating the screw shaft, and a moving board(24) installed via rails(21, 21') and the screw shaft, the board(24) having at a lower end thereof a hole(24a) for coupling with rails(21, 21') and a hole for a screw-coupling with the screw shaft; a vertical movement device(30) having an induction motor(31) disposed at a lower end of the board(24), a screw shaft(32) connected to the motor(31) and which is installed upright on the board(24), a moving member(33) screw-coupled by the shaft(32) and which moves vertically, a target establishing rod(34) installed vertically via the member(33), and a guide cylinder(36) having at an outer wall thereof a guide groove for a vertical movement of the member(33), the member(33) having a guide pin(33a) to be inserted into the guide groove of the cylinder(36), and a cover plate(37) installed on the top of the cylinder(36) and which is supported by the shaft(32) and has an arc groove for a guidance of the rod(34); and a controller for controlling the above devices.
