PURPOSE: An apparatus for preventing reverse rotation of a scroll compressor is provided to prevent great noise generated during reverse rotation and damage of machinery part. CONSTITUTION: In a scroll compressor having an electric machine part formed with a stator and a rotor, a compressing machine part receiving the operating power of the electric machine part through a main shaft for absorbing and compressing a refrigerant, and an upper frame and a lower frame for supporting the main shaft, an apparatus for preventing reverse rotation of the scroll compressor includes a moving element forming at least one coupling part(104) having an incline in the same direction with the rotational direction of the main shaft, at least one protrusion(106) combined with the main shaft, and being association with the rotation of the main shaft for an upward and downward rectilinear motion, a stating element forming at least one protrusion(107) corresponding to the protrusion of the moving element, and fixed in either the upper frame or the lower frame, and the main shaft having a gradient in the reverse direction with the incline of the moving part and at least one guide groove.
