摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal device which can be driven with a low power consumption and in improved in image quality. SOLUTION: Luminous pulse widths of a red luminous light source 3R, a green luminous light source 3G, and a blue luminous light source 3B of a backlight system 3 arranged behind a liquid crystal panel 2 driven in time- division manner are set according to color mixture ratio of standard white, and the light sources differ from each other in the pulse width. Therefore, each light source can be driven the same voltage in accordance with a specification, moreover, it is possible to improve a white balance at the time of additive color mixture when the light sources are driven to emit light in time-division manner. Consequently, the liquid crystal display device 1 driven in time-division manner can be decreased in power consumption and also can be improved in image quality.
