PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bus controller which can attain both the fast transfer of image data and the transfer of image data accordant with the boundary of the image data. SOLUTION: A scanner controller 4302 and a printer controller 4303 are connected to a G bus 404 which can perform only the burst transfer of data and to a B bus 405 which can perform the single transfer of data as well the burst transfer respectively. If it's decided that the data to be transferred are fragmentary to a memory boundary based on the address and the length of the data to be transferred, the single transfer of data is performed via the bus 405. Then the fast burst transfer of data is performed via the bus 404 when the data are not fragmentary any more.
