PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data transmitter where a job efficiency in resource registration is enhanced and a storage efficiency is enhanced with full of extension performance in the case of building up a music distribution system using a satellite and to provide data transmitting method. SOLUTION: A data storage section 405 of a tape streamer stores PCM digital data. For example, a data storage section 406 of a hard disk of a storage server 404 stores the PCM digital data required for broadcast. The data storage section 406 of the storage server 404 transfers the PCM data to a data conversion section 402 in advance, the data conversion section 402 converts the PCM data into data with a MUSICAM form or an ARAC form in advance and returns the converted data to the data storage section 406. Prior to transmission of digital data, the data with the MUSICAM form or the ARAC form from the data storage section 406 are fed to a data transmission section 407, which transmits the digital data. After the end of broadcast, the data in the data storage section 406 are deleted and a data storage section 405 stores PCM digital data.
