PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a case for a disk cartridge from which the optical disk cartridge can be taken outside by one hand. SOLUTION: A case B for storing a cartridge A has a top plate 1, a bottom plate 2, side plates 3 and 4 formed between the top plate 1 and bottom plate 2, and opening 5 and 6 formed between the top plate 1 and bottom plate 2 and opened front and rear of a direction orthogonal to the side plates 3 and 4. Engagement members 7 and 8 are set outside one or both of the top plate 1 and bottom plate 2. Positioning members 9 and 10 are set inside one or both of the side plates 3 and 4. Notches 11 and 12 are provided in the opening 5, and a freely openable lid part 13 is set to the opening 6.
