摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the detection precision of a noncontact-type detector higher. SOLUTION: On the periphery of a shaftlike rotating body 81 which transmits torque, a cylindrical magnetostrictive member 2 made of magnetostrictive material is fitted. From the quantity of magnetostriction in accordance with the torsion of the magnetostrictive member 2, torque is detected. Besides, generation of a detection error caused by expansion by temperature of an adhesive agent, etc., is prevented by press-fitting and fixing both ends 21, 22 of the cylindrical member 2 to the periphery of the rotating body 81 without using an adhesive agent. By not fixing the other part 23 of the magnetostrictive member 2, uniform torsional deformation free from defective deformation caused by influence of friction with the rotating body 81, etc., and according to the torsion of the rotating body 81, is generated in the nonfixing part 23, and detection precision is made higher.
