PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent degradation of image quality due to unevenness in the amount of toner attracted to a surface of a developing sleeve by completely detaching developer from the surface of a developing sleeve by surely decreasing the attracting force of the developer toward the developing sleeve. SOLUTION: In this developing device, a magnetic member 6 is installed downstream of the rotating direction of the developing sleeve 2, outside of a carrying path of the developer and in a position where a magnetic field of a developing magnetic pole 5b is not affected by its magnetic force. When the polarity of the magnetic member 6 is N, the attracting force of the developer 10 for the periphery surface of the developing sleeve 2 is weakened. Furthermore, when the polarity of the magnetic member 6 is S, the developer 10 in the developer carrying path is magnetized in the direction repulsing to the periphery surface of the developing sleeve 2. In either case, the state of attraction of the developer 10 to the periphery surface of the developing sleeve 2 passed a developing position P is made unstable and the developer 10 attracted to the developing sleeve 2 is easily detached from the developing sleeve 2 after passing the developing position P. |
