PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a prepaid card and a card reader capable of easily preventing a forgery. SOLUTION: The prepaid card A provided with an information storing part 4 recording use information such as the balance and the number of usable times by magnetism has a cut part consisting of plural unit blocks 3 being virtually subjected to division configuration and a base part 5 that remains to the last, provides the part 4 over the blocks 3 continuously or individually in each unit block 3 and is used while successively cutting off the block 3 becoming unnecessary from one side of the cut part of the card A which does not adjoins the part 5 in accordance with the use frequency of the card A so that an identifying part 61 consisting of concave and convex parts corresponding to the use frequency of the card 1 can be formed on the cut part of the card A after it is cut off.
