<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the crew of a vehicle not feel a sense of incompatibility by properly displaying the distance to an object, which is not detected by an object detecting means any more, without widening the detection range of the object detecting means, by continuously displaying the distance to the object which is judged to be approaching the vehicle. SOLUTION: The object on the side of the back of the vehicle is detected by an object detecting means 10 and information on the distance between the object detected by this object detecting means 10 and the vehicle is displayed on a display means 31. Besides, it is discriminated by a approaching/leaving judging means 40 whether the detected object is approaching or leaving the vehicle. When there is an object which is not detected by the object detecting means 10 any more and it is the object which is judged to be approaching the vehicle by the approaching/leaving judging means 40, the distance to the object is continuously displayed on the display means 31 by a display continuing means 41.</p> |
