PURPOSE: A digital video capture board is provided to use a FIFO memory instead of a frame memory. CONSTITUTION: A digital video capture board includes a digital camera(1), a level converter(2), an address generator(3), a data packer(4), a FIFO memory(9), a FIFO(first in first out) memory controller(10), an input/output register(7), and a system bus interface(8). The level converter(2) converts the digital video data from the digital camera into TTL(transistor-transistor logic) level. The address generator(3) generates the address of the memory in which the converted output is stored. The data packer(4) packs the 8-bit output of the level converter into a 32-bit digital video data. The FIFO memory(9) stores the output of the data packer. The FIFO memory controller(10) controls the input/output of the FIFO memory. The input/output register(7) operates to monitor the status of the digital video capture board. The system bus interface(8) controls the interface between the PCI bus and the digital video capture board.
