PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent damages to appearance, and to simplify assembly, and to reduce manufacturing cost of a public telephone set. SOLUTION: A surface panel 3 is constituted of an outer member 11, intermediate member 12, and reinforcing plate 13. The outer member 11 is constituted of a front plate 14 and a pair of side plates 15A and 15B, and the intermediate member 12 is formed of a back plate part 25 and both side parts 26 and 27. The reinforcing plate 13 is mounted on an intermediate member 12, and the front face of the back plate part 25 is covered with the front plate 14, and the side plates 15A and 15B are fit into the both side parts 26 and 27. The side plates 15A and 15B are mounted on the reinforcing plate 13, so that parts 14b and 14b to be interposed of the front plate 14 are interposed between the side parts 26 and 27 and the side plates 15A and 15B.
