PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a disk array controller which can informs a host computer of response data having information on the state of the disk array device enabling the host computer to grasp the state of the disk array device with a small number of commands. SOLUTION: The disk array controller which controls a disk array of physical disks is equipped with a resource state request command detection part 15 which detects whether or not a command inputted from a host interface control circuit 2 through a control signal is a resource state request command, an internal control information table 18 which contains internal control information that the disk array controller manages, and an internal control information structuring part 16 which refers to the internal control information held in the internal control information table 18 through internal control buses 4 and 17 and structures it by resources into a structure.
