PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a measuring reagent by which an autoimmune kidney disease and a secondary kidney disease can be detected at an early stage so as to be discriminated form other kidney diseases and which can be useful for a remedy by a method wherein Type IV collagen or its peptide is used for a detecting reagent or the remedy as an antigen. SOLUTION: In an autoimmune kidney disease and a secondary kidney disease which is caused by other kidney diseases, anti-Type IV collagen antibody (anti- Type IV antibody) in blood is measured by using an immune reaction. When the anti-Type IV antibody in human serum is measured by an enzyme immune reaction, it is measured while 1) a plate which os coated with Type IV collagen, 2) an enzyme-labeled antihuman IgG antibody, 3) a coloring substance (hydrogen peroxide) and 4) a reaction stop solution (sulfuric acid) are used as a reagent. When the plate is coated with the Type IV collagen, avidin, biotin or a component in which they are bonded may be used as a substance to be coated. As the animal species of the Type IV collagen to be used, a human is desirable, and a bovine, a pig a chicken, a sheep or other animals may be used so as not to be limited to them.
