PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve visibility of the display contents of a sound quality decision element by displaying an inputted sound signal level, processing inputted sound signals and changing the display form of a display part which corresponds to sound processing information used in a sound processing means operation. SOLUTION: A video signal processing circuit 102 compresses information amount by performing encoding by using a well-known variable length encoding, such as A/D conversion, DECT and Huffman encodings on video signals outputted from an image pickup part 101 and outputs the compressed video signals to a recording and reproducing circuit 104. In the meantime, the video signals before executing a compression processing are outputted to a monitor 103. The recording and reproducing circuit 104 executes processings required for performing recording such as synchronization, the addition of an ID or the like and error correction coding to video signals outputted from the video signal processing circuit 102 and modifies them into a form suited for recording. Furthermore, the video signals to which such processings are executed are recorded on a magnetic tape. |
