PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase energy regeneration efficiency to reduce fuel consumption without impairing operability and drivability of a vehicle. SOLUTION: A controller for a vehicle is provided with a generator, which is applied with driving force to be rotated to generate power at speed reduction from a power transmission system, which transmits power to driving wheels and a road state detector for detecting the state of the road (steps S2, S3). This controller is also provided with a power generation efficiency controller (steps S7, S8), which changes the power generation efficiency of the generator based on the state of the road detected by the road state detector (steps S2, S3). |
