PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a developing device from being kept in a stopped state at a position where a developer carrying member is adversely affected by controlling the stop position of the developer carrying member when the operation of the device is stopped. SOLUTION: A gear 121 for rotating the developer carrying member 101 is provided with a notched part corresponding to a direction where an elastic sheet 112 exists. This image forming device is equipped with a sensor for detecting the notch, so that the position of the sheet 112 is detected. Namely, the stop position of the member 101 is determined according to the position of the sensor for detecting the notch. Then, the operation of the developing device is stopped when the member 101 faces in a vertically upward direction in the case of stopping the operation of the developing device. In such a case, a member (for example, a photointerruptor) capable of detecting the notch when the member 101 comes to the stop position has only to be arranged in order to stop the member 101 at the stop position. |
