PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make realizable the compatibleness of both of a wide viewing angle and high contrast with each other by disposing a collimating means of back light beams, a liquid crystal panel, a back light introducing means to allow the back light to enter the liquid crystal panel, a diffusing means to diffuse the light transmitted through the liquid crystal panel, or the like. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display(LCD) 10 consists of a liquid crystal panel 12, a back light part 14 which emits the collimated light to propagate straight to enter the liquid crystal panel 12, and a light diffusing plate 16 to diffuse the light carrying an image passed through the liquid crystal panel 12. The liquid crystal panel 12 is connected to a driver to drive the panel, and the LCD 10 is provided with various kinds of members as required. By this constitution, high contrast can be obtd. with a wide viewing angle so that the viewing angle characteristics can be improved as well as the contrast ratio can be improved. Thus, compatibleness of both of a wide viewing angle and high contrast with each other can be realized. |
