PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic head which is firmly joined by low temperature treatment without degrading the head characteristics, weather resistance or the like. SOLUTION: In the magnetic head composed of a pair of magnetic cores 1, 2 joined through a gap material, the magnetic cores 1, 2 consists of a ferrite, a base film 5 comprising Cr, Ti or Mo is formed on each joining face of the magnetic cores 1, 2, and further, a Pd or Pt layer 3 is formed on the base film 5. The base films 5 and Pd or Pt layers 3 form the gap material and are bonded by diffusion of Pd or Pt layers 3 with each other. |
