PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrochromic display medium and a display device which are flexible and show paper-like appearance. SOLUTION: In the electrochromic display medium and display device, an electrochromic layer (EC) 105 and a transparent electrode 107 are laminated on one surface of a solid electrolyte 101 formed into a film, and an electrochromic layer (EC) 106 as a counter reaction layer and an electrode 107' are laminated on the other surface of the solid electrolyte 101. A voltage is applied between the transparent electrode 107 and electrode 107' to develop colors or erase colors of the electrochromic layer 105.
