PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a testing device compact and to reduce facility costs by sandwiching powder by two upper and lower disk-shaped members, fixing one member, and rotating the other. SOLUTION: Powder (ash) 19 is placed on a lower disk member 3 fixed in a cylindrical container 2, and the cylindrical container 2 is elevated by an elevating device 9. Then the ash 19 is sandwiched between the lower and upper disk members 3 and 4, and a predetermined pressure is exerted on the ash 19. The pressure is controlled as being measured by a pressure gauge 17. The upper disk member 4 is continuously rotated by a motor 5 at a predetermined number of rotations, and the cylindrical container 2 is lowered after the expiration of a predetermined time interval to remove the lower and upper disk members 3 and 4. The disk members 3 and 4 are each verified to evaluate the wear, abrasion, and hardness of the ash 19 from the numbers and depths of flaws on their surfaces. Therefore, as there is no need for a large-scale testing device such as a high-temperature blast erosion test device, it is possible to make a testing device compact to reduce facility costs. In addition, as a few types of ash are used by a small amount, it is possible to reduce costs and to shorten test time.
