PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure the durability of vibration resistance and shock resistance under high temperature and to provide sure feeling of installation by providing a push-up member provided in a socket body and abutting on a lamp base with the lamp base engaged with the socket body and an elastic element supported by the socket body and pressurizing the push-up member in the direction detaching the lamp base. SOLUTION: A push-up member 5 is provided in a socket body 1 and abuts on a lamp base 47 with the lamp base 47 engaged with the socket body 1. An elastic body 6 is supported by the socket body 1 so as to pressurize the push-up member 5 in the direction of detaching the lamp base 47. For example, in a case of used for a lamp such as an HID lamp, a socket having high voltage pulse applied thereto for lighting the lamp is provided with the push-up member 5 supported by the elastic body 6, prevents the semi-engagement state between the lamp base 47 and the socket body 1 by pressurizing the lamp in its detachment direction so as to secure the stable contact state and prevent the trouble caused by loose contact.
