The automatic locking device for the final strip (L) of a roller shutter (R) comprises a lock fixed on the final strip. Pivoting bolts (1,2) fit the contours of a strike plate (4) and a vertically sliding cam (3) descends by its own weight between the opposite spans of the bolts which lock the lock. A cord (5) fixed to the top of any shutter strip and to the bottom part of the cam enables automatic opening of the lock by the cord tension obtained by the falling down of the roller shutter strips.
