The garment, such as a sleeping suit or coverall, has a panel extending from the waist to the feet which is opened by means of two invisible sliding clasp fasteners of supple plastic to allow the baby's nappy to be changed. The upper part of the garment, from waist to neck, stays covered during nappy-changing. A variant of the design has a covering flap with press studs over the top of the opening panel.
