PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an optical fiber cord easy in peeling the outer skin and simple in manufacturing equipment and a method. SOLUTION: A coated optical fiber 1 is covered with a high tensile body 2 on the outer circumference and further covered with an outer skin 3 on the outer circumference. The outer skin 3 has a seam at least in two places continuously in the axial direction. In processing the end of this optical fiber cord, the seam on the outer skin is torn from the tip by hand for a required length and then cut off with scissors in a state bent outward together with the tensile strength; thus, the coated optical fiber can be exposed.
