PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an uniform hue and uniform transmittance for the light from a back light source by forming a colorless transparent filter film on one transparent substrate where no color filter film is formed in such a manner that the transparent filter film is laminated on a transparent electrode pattern on the transparent substrate. SOLUTION: A colorless transparent filter film 11 is formed on one transparent substrate 3 where no color filter film 8 is formed in such a manner that the transparent filter film 11 is laminated on a transparent electrode pattern 5 on the transparent substrate 3. Thereby, the thickness of the liquid crystal layer between the transparent substrates 2, 3 in the region except for the color filter film 8 is controlled by the colorless transparent filter film 11 formed in this region to be almost same as or equal to the thickness of the liquid crystal layer 6 in the region of the color filter film 8, while the liquid crystal layer 6 is not colored in the region except for the color filter film 8. Moreover, inhomogeneous transmittance of light from the back light source is reduced by the colorless transparent filter film 11.
