PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the time required for a data transfer processing by eliminating a processing for transferring operation request blocks(ORBs) in the data transfer between information recording and reproducing devices which are connected with the cable of 1394 serial busses. SOLUTION: First, the sector information of a holding data area is made to correspond to 1394 address of a holding 1394 address space. At performing of a data transfer, a read request is transmitted to the 1394 address when performing a 'Read' processing, and a write request is transmitted to the address when performing a 'Write' processing. Then, a device which received the requests obtains sector information corresponding to the accessed 1394 address by an address assigning means 9 and then transmits data of a data area from the sector information with a read response at the 'Read' processing and writes received data in a data area from the sector information.
