PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a device capable of imaging an artery and a vein clearly discriminating one to the other loading little on the subject. SOLUTION: The measurement light L is made incident on a subject 22 and scanned by an X-Y stage 23. A part of the measurement light L is branched, given a frequency shift by a frequency shifter 34, synthesized with the measurement light transmitted through the subject 22, and those beat components are detected by a light detector 13. Image signals Sp are generated by a personal computer 20, etc., based on intensity ratio of pulse wave band signals against beat signals included in signals I outputted by the light detector 13.
