PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject food having the palate feeling inherent in natural cheese despite being a bacterially safe process cheese-type cheese, and excellent in spinnability and heat resistance even after heated two or more times, and to provide a method for producing such food. SOLUTION: This cheese-like food with high spinnability and heat resistance comprises 100 pts.wt. of natural cheese and 0.1-20 pts.wt. of a whey protein- isolated product. This food is obtained by admixing 100 pts.wt. of natural cheese with 0.1-20 pts.wt. of a whey protein-isolated product followed by heating, sterilization, and then emulsification, and the resulting mixture is quenched under application of tensile force.
