PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an output control apparatus for an internal combustion engine capable of correctly controlling actual output according to requested output of an internal combustion engine. SOLUTION: This output control apparatus obtains target mean effective pressure (target Pe) from requested output of an engine, and uses the target Pe as an input signal of a control system. In the control system, actual injection pulse width Pw is determined based on the target Pe. At that time, the injection pulse width Pw is fed back to the control system as actual mean effective pressure (actual Pe) through a three-dimensional map 40. The eccentricityΔPe is subjected to proportional integral control by a controller 44 to obtain a correction Pe. The correction Pe is added to the target Pe to correct the target Pe, and the injection pulse width Pw is determined by the corrected target Pe. Therefore, the actual Pe matches with the target Pe by repeating the feedback, thereby to correctly control output of the engine according to the requested output.
