摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the deformation of a seal member formed into a box state by resin. SOLUTION: A fine clearance is provided between the outer peripheral wall of a vane rotor for constituting a valve timing adjusting device and the inner peripheral wall of a shoe housing. A seal member 16 retained on the outer peripheral wall of the vane rotor is pushed against the inner peripheral wall of the housing by the energizing force of a plate spring 17 and centrifugal force, thereby passing through the clearance to prevent the leakage of hydraulic fluid between oil pressure chambers. The member 16 is integrally formed into a boxlike rectangular pallelepiped by resin, and has a boxed part 161, the center rib 162, and both end ribs 163. The rib 162 is formed at the center part in the longitudinal direction of the member 16. The respective end ribs 163 are formed so that the center can be positioned at the position of L/6 from both the end sides in the longitudinal direction, where L: the overall length of the member 16.
