PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily inspect a residual stress and to save time and labor required for establishment and confirmation of molding condition when a transparent optical molded article in which the residual stress brings a problem is molded. SOLUTION: A residual stress in a molded article 14 is inspected by a method wherein a displaying instrument 7 is wholly made to a displaying screen with high brightness by setting by means of a control device 16 and the molded article 14 placed between two polarizing plates wherein polarized lights intersect at right angles each other is observed by using the screen as a light source. In addition, guides 10 and 10 storing the polarizing plates or the polarizing plates and the molded articles 14 are provided around the front face of the displaying instrument 7.
