摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain excellent damping structure, installation and space utilization by jointing high clevises of high tension steel to both the ends of a damper portion of dead soft steel plate with the central portion narrowed and inserting it to a steel pipe and filling the gaps with a foamed material. SOLUTION: Clevises 10, 11 of high tension steel are jointed to both the ends 8b, 8c of a damper portion 8 formed to a smaller width than other portions at the central part 8a of a long-sized plate-shaped member of dead soft steel, and inserted to a steel pipe 9 and the gaps are filled with a hard foam material 13. The damping construction 3 produced as stated above is installed by jointing the clevises 10, 11 to the framing in a reverse V-shape. At the time of an earthquake, the dead soft steel damper portion 8 is yielded before the yield of the framing, thereby resulting in plastic deformation, absorbing vibration energy and damping the vibration response. A foamed material 13 in a steel pipe 9 presses the damper portion 8 uniformly, and restricts local buckling. Also, the plastic deformation concentrates at the central part 8a where the width is narrow, and the yielding deformation decreases. Moreover, the damping construction has a light weight and thus at a low cost so that the space utilization of the building is not impaired.
