PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provided an optical equalization amplifier that amplifies a wavelength multiplex light and easily and with high accuracy applies output constant control to a plurality of wavelength optical output levels. SOLUTION: This optical equalization amplifier consists of an array waveguide grating AWG 1 that branches a received wavelength multiplex light, a variable optical attenuator 2 that adjusts individually the optical level of each branched optical signal, a CPU 10 that controls an output level from the variable optical attenuator 2 constant, A/D converters 12-1 to 12-n, that convert each optical output level into a digital value, a drive circuit 5 for driving the variable optical attenuator 2, D/A converters 11-1 to 11-n to output an analog control value to this derive circuit 5, an AWG 4 to combine optical signals with each wavelength whose optical levels are made constant, a pre-stage optical amplifier section 6 and a post-stage optical amplifier section 7. |
