PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the danger of stumbling of a user, particularly, an aged person by providing a sensed matter on a cart, and providing a sensing body which announces a warning when it senses the sensed matter in an escalator getting-on port. SOLUTION: This escalator 1 has footsteps 2 connected endlessly to carry passengers. A cart 4 such as shopping cart or baby buggy has a sensed matter 5 such as barcode or signal transmitter. A sensing body 6 provided on the getting-on port 2 of the escalator 1 detests the sensed matter 5 when the cart 4 gets close thereto and announces a warning such as 'Getting-on is forbidden'. When a customer 7 moves the cart 4 and approaches the getting-on port 3 to get on the escalator 1, the sensing body 6 detects the sensed matter 5 and announces and alarm to the customer 7 that the escalator 1 is not available. According to this, the customer can surely know that the cart is not available, and a danger such as stumbling can be prevented.
