PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a one-way clutch enabling increase of number of torque transmission members and block bearings capable of being positioned inside a circular space compared to conventional ones and having a structure with high degree of freedom of design in regard to a one-way clutch composed so as to properly maintain a J-space by positioning the plurality of block bearings inside the circular space between an outer peripheral surface of an inner ring or a shaft and an inner peripheral surface of an outer ring. SOLUTION: By providing a recessed part 52 at a face opposing an outer peripheral surface 2 of an inner ring or a shaft of a block bearing 5 and inserting a supporting piece 62b integrally formed to a retainer 6 into the recessed part 52 for supporting each block bearing 5 in a diameter direction, a stage part on both sides as such on conventional block bearings becomes unnecessary and a circumferential maximum dimension of the block bearing 5 is shortened.
