<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily manufacture a roller of high accuracy by fitting a plastic support shaft body provided with a flange and a boss with a metal shaft embedded, into each end of a pipe-like plastic roller body, and ultrasonically welding the flange to the end of the roller body. SOLUTION: A pipe-like roller body 1 of a plastic roller (a) is formed of hard plastic, and a support shaft 2 of a plastic support shaft body (b) is formed of the same material as the roller body 1, while a metal shaft 6 is formed of a stainless steel or iron. The metal shaft 6 forming a boss 8 of the support shaft body (b) is fitted into each end of the roller body 1 to press an annular protrusion 5 of a flange 3 of the support shaft 2 to the end face of the roller body 1, and the flange 3 is ultrasonically welded to the end of the roller body 1 to connect the support shaft body (b) concentrically to each end of the roller body 1, thus constituting the plastic roller (a). At this time, a protruding edge 4 of the flange 3 prevents fused plastic of the protrusion 5 from overflowing outside of the flange 3. The centerlines of the roller body 1 and support shaft body (b) coincide well with each other to easily manufacture the roller of high accuracy.</p> |
