发明名称 Improvements in shoulder box machinery
摘要 838,385. Making boxes. SCHWARZ, L. Aug. 14, 1958, No. 26135/58. Class 18. In making a shoulder box, i.e. a box having an insert 3, Fig. 1, standing up above the box walls 2, the walls are bent over the base before assembly of the box to increase the flexibility of the sides and to cause them to adhere to the insert 3 more readily. The blanks are cut from a roll of stout paper or cardboard by a press or a rotary tool and fed either to a hopper or directly to a first conveyer 17. Helical ramps 19 bend up two opposed walls 2 of each blank and fingers 21 turn the walls back again. The blanks then pass to a second conveyer 18 where ramps 20 turn up the remaining opposed sides and similar fingers 22 return these sides to their original position. Alternatively, the conveyers may be in line and means provided for turning each blank through a right angle. The punching of the blanks can be stopped if the assembly of the boxes is stopped. Top rails 23 retain the central portion of each blank. The inserts 3 may be supplied from a shoot 8, pass through wheels 9, be supplied with adhesive by wheels 9a pass through a device 10 which dries the adhesive to a tacky condition and then is opened by suction pads 11, 12. Subsequently, a plunger forces the insert and the blank through a die thereby folding up the walls 2 into contact with the insert.
