PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vertically elevatable storage device which is capable of easily removing stored articles required by a user with slight operating force and low in cost. SOLUTION: A storage device has a storage shelf 1 vertically movable down from a fixed outer box 2 storing the storage shelf. An elevation unit includes a guide plate 5 incorporating a guide rail 4 and provided in the fixed outer box 2, a storage shelf plate 9 elevatable along the guide rail 4, the storage shelf 1 mounted on the storage shelf plate 9, an upper plate 6 mounted with constant load springs 6 for assisting the elevation of the storage shelf plate 9 on the right and left sides, respectively, and fixed to the fixed outer box 2, a lower plate 8 provided under the fixed outer box 2 for limiting the descending of the storage shelf 1 and a locking mechanism provided on the storage shelf plate 9 for locking the storage shelf 1 at a storage position (the highest position) and a usage position (the lowest position) with the upper plate 7 or the lower plate 8.
