PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an ink jet recording material being excellent in printability and water resistance and also having surface luster. SOLUTION: In a manufacturing method of an ink jet recording material wherein at least one ink receiving layer 12 is provided on a substrate 11 and the ink receiving layer 12 is photo-cured, a layer of a composition of photosensitive resin and an inorganic filler is provided as the ink receiving layer 12. Before photo-curing is conducted, a smooth film sheet 13 is press-bonded on the ink application surface side of the ink receiving layer 12 and the sheet 13 is peeled off after the photo-curing.
