PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the dust sucking efficiency of a vacuum cleaner by efficiently floating dust on the floor surface. SOLUTION: This vacuum cleaner has a suction base 3 in which a brush room 2a is formed, a rotary brush 3, a dust collecting part 5 and an electric fan part 6. The rotary brush 3, the dust collecting part 5 and the electric fan part 6 are attached to the suction base 3 integrally to constitute the main body 1 of the vacuum cleaner. By jetting vented air including high speed circulating components from a centrifugal fan 6b of the electric fan part 6 into the brush room 2a so that the air will circulate in the same direction with the rotary brush 3, the vented air is made to act on the ventilation energy to be utilized for floating dust on the floor surface.
