PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject compound useful as a medicine or its raw material in a high purity and in a high yield by using an adenosine triphosphate and adenosine 5'-triphosphoric acid as reaction substrates under the action of a prolyl-t-RNA synthetic enzyme, etc. SOLUTION: This method for producing a diadenosine tetraphosphate of formula II useful as a medicine, its raw material, etc., comprises using an adenosine triphosphate of formula I (X is O or CH2; Y is O, CH2 or NH) and adenosine 5'-triphosphoric acid as reaction substrates under the catalytic action of a prolyl-t-RNA synthetic enzyme or a histidine-t RNA synthetic enzyme. Thus, the compound of formula II can profitably be produced in a high purity and in a high yield.
