PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an apparatus for generating a spread fiber stream for the production of cigarette, etc., by providing an air-blasting opening of a slit nozzle acting in the flowing direction of fiber stream and forming a generating line of a guiding path interrupted by the opening with an integrated envelop line. SOLUTION: This apparatus for generating a spread fiber stream composed of tobacco fiber along a concave curved guiding path is provided with an air- blasting opening acting in the flowing direction of the fiber stream. The apparatus which is a constituent element of a distribution apparatus of a continuous cigarette production machine is obtained by forming a guiding path segment 38 as a continuous material press-forming contour member, forming a thin-walled part at the upstream side and downstream side along the air-blasting opening 23 formed as two adjacent slit nozzles relative to the flowing direction 36 of a fiber stream 22 with a wall part 32 dividing the slipping face 21a of the guiding path 21 of the contour member, and forming an integral envelop line with the generating line of the guiding path 21 interrupted with the air-blasting opening 23.
