PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of easily and definitely fixing a manhole iron lid installed below a road in a short period of time. SOLUTION: A manhole iron lid is removed, holes are drilled at two places at the positions on a diagonal line of a concentric circle in the iron lid 1, a flat head bolt 2 is inserted to each hole, and a flat bar 5 longer than the inner diameter of a receiving frame 4 is attached to the tip of the flat head bolt. Then, the flat bar 5 is introduced to the lower side of the receiving frame 4 by tilting it in a state of the flat bar 5 attached, and the receiving frame 4 by tilting it in a state of the flat bar 5 attached, and the iron lid 1 is fixed by closing the iron lid 1 and tightening the flat head bolt 2.
