PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To safely and effectively inhibit corrosion without an inhibitor being deposited by incorporating a lactone compd., a pararoxybenzoate, methyl anthranilate, engenol, isoeugenol, cyclohexyl acetate or the like into the inhibitor. SOLUTION: This corrosion inhibitor for a steam condensing line contains >=1 kind among a lactone compd. shown by formula I ((n) is an integer of 4 to 9), a paraoxybenzate expressed by formula II (R is 1 to 4C alklyl), methyl anthranilate, eugenol, isoengenol and cyclohexyl acetate and is appropriately added to feed water by 0.001 to 400 mg/l, preferably by 0.01 to 200 mg/l or more preferably by 0.02 to 100 mg/l. Since the inhibitor is volatile and easily transferable to steam and condensed water, the corrosion of the inner wall of the steam condensing line is inhibited without the inhibitor being deposited, and the inhibitor is safe for sanitary reasons.
