PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a titanyltetraazaporphyrin derivative mixture which gives an electrophotographic photoreceptor excellent in sensitivity and static build-up characteristics in the region from a visible light region to a near infrared light region and improved in electrostatic stability as to fatigue characteristics in repeated use by reacting (phthalonitrile, a dicyanopyridine and a titanium compound. SOLUTION: A mixture of phthalonitrile of formula I and a dicyanoaminopyridine of formula II or III at a molar ratio of (1:99999) to (99999:1) is reacted with a titanium compound comprising e.g. titanium tetrachloride or tetra-n-butyl orthotitanate to give a mixture of two or more titanyltetraazaporphyrin derivatives of formula IV, having peaks at 576, 577, 578, 579 and 580 in the mass spectrometry and a diffraction peak at least at one of Bragg angles (2θ±0.2 deg.) of 6.9 deg., 26.2 deg., 27.2 deg., and 28.5 deg. in the X-ray diffraction spectrum by using CuKαradiation. In the formulas, A, B, C and D are each a benzene ring or the like, which may be unsubstituted or substituted by nitro, halogeno, cyano, a 1-8C alkyl, a 1-8C alkoxy or the like.
